The Plastic Demon

The photoshoots depicts a vision of the Plastic Demon. The model is dressed fully in a plastic waste. The Plastic Demon it is - being proud and careless, dominating the earth. It also shows the emotional state a Human, who did something wrong, bad in consequences. First phase - PINK - being proud and strong, looking down on everybody. Second phase - YELLOW - human is a little ashamed, starts to feel guilty and try to find justification for what she did. Looks for guidance and consolation. Third phase - BLUE/GRAY- the human knows, that what she did cannot be undone. That she had messed up really bad, and that she is lost.
The Clothes are made by the photographer. Vivid, hypersaturated colours of clothing were intended to emphasize artificiality, unnaturality of plastic. Depicting the model and her poses, were purposefully done in high-fashion, haute couture way.

About my motivation to do the photoshoot:

Human is the only specie, that destroy himself and his surrounding in a bigger picture, and at the same time is being sure, that he is going perfectly right way and still rising, and gaining the power. On earth this doesn't work that way. How narrow minded he is. Egocentric idiot - yes, that's us, humans. Human evoked a toxic Plastic Demon, who now is present in the majority of all the industries, houses, landscapes.

On the good old Earth, everything used to go in cycles, each components of nature complemented each other. There was no more of any substance, than the amount, that could be used, assimilated and digested by the coil.

From 1950 to 2015, we produced 450 milion tons of plastic. Since 1950 the amount have grown unimaginably, because as You know, it rised from zero (because there was no plastic before the 50s) to so freaking much, that it cannot be hidden or reduced! It literally pours on the earth, into the waters, on poor living beings, causing many of them to die. Causing our water and vegetables poisoned. Many species are in danger, even in the oceans, which seemed to be soooo big, that they could handle a pile of trash. It appears they cannot.

Did You know (oh yeah), that when You put a plastic bag on Your head, You will suffocate? Did You also noticed, that when You wear polymer fibers, like poliester, acrylic etc. You sweat a lot more, and that is because Your skin doesnt breath and also suffocates? What do You think happen, when these plastics go into the ocean, forest, soil? What do You think happens to the animals, creatures, plants? Yeah, You are right, they suffocate. Us, Humans are the reason, why The Plastic Demon is killing the earth.

What will we do next? When earth is totally dead, will we go and take adventage of another planet? Probably yes. Use it and abuse it? It's a perfect description of The Human style of behaviour.

Do You want to be a part of it? Do You identify with that label of a human? The ultimate destroyer with a short, closed mind? Thinking only about himself?
Are You proud of us? I hope You are ashamed reading this, but constructively.

Maybe consider what can You actually do, to improve that situation just a little bit? If everybody would start to do just a little, then looking at the majority it would be a nice amount of effort. And a step forward, to solving the situation just a little.
Maybe try to buy less in plastic containers? Maybe write an email to a company which produces products that You like, to make them think about switching into paper or glass packaging? If more people would write to that company, the impact is bigger, and the company also will see what values matter to the customers, who bring them money. Customer buys a certain values with the products. So, there is a chance that the company will change the vision it presents to it customers, and create more mindful, plastics products and packagings.
Maybe You could also be more mindful when buying house items? Maybe try to buy food in bulk, bring Your own containers to the shop, and also at the same time educate others?
Maybe consider starting to buy ONLY second-hand clothes, tools, supplies?
Maybe think about what happens with the stuff, that You throw away? Maybe it is just damn stupid to buy something, and to throw it away after one or two uses? Maybe it's better to borrow this from somebody who already has it? You would save lots of money if You would start thinking that way on a regular basis.

Every action matters!
