Moving Into the Dawn

“The one thing a photograph must contain is the humanity of the moment.” This series came together as the result of a model/photographer collaboration. Kimberley and I work incredibly well together. Each of us bring our own strengths and ideas to our shoots and when combined create hands down some of what I feel are my strongest images. This dress inspired me to add a more vintage feel to our collection of work. Bending and guiding the light as well as capturing soft poses and fabric movement was essential in building a collection of photos that identified with another decade in time. I have such confidence in Kimberley’s professional skills and talents as a model which helped a great deal. Both of us worked at slowing down our normal pace and placing more attention on establishing a mood and emotion to the timeline of images all of which resulted in more of a storytelling style of portraiture.
